We got exposed, tried to push the game a little bit in the second half, gave up that early goal right at the start of the second half - that hurt us."
The loss dropped the Fire to 2-3-2 this season, an unacceptable record for a team that was considered an Eastern power heading into the season.
Chicago faces some injury concerns heading into the match, with attacker Calen Carr and John Thorrington out, with defender Tim Ward listed as doubtful, all with injuries. Midfielders Baggio Husidic and Justin Mapp and defender Steven Kinney are questionable.
The Wizards (2-3-1) will be without midfielder Zoltan Hercegfalvi, while midfielders Davy Arnaud and Stephane Auvray are questionable with injuries of their own.
